This charming relative of the aster family has 1-inch, blue, daisy-like flowers that bloom June to October. Chicory is a perennial herb cultivated for a variety of purposes: It has a deep tap root that can help alleviate soil compaction and move nutrients to the surface, it can be harvested to make a coffee substitute, and it is a good pollinator plant for poor soils. It grows to 24-48 inches tall, spreads up to 24 inches, prefers full sun. Sold as a single dormant bare root.
