Itoh peonies are a hybrid of tree peonies and herbaceous garden peonies. They are perennial, and they are sturdier than garden peonies, but do die back to the ground in the winter. They form a round bush about 30 inches tall and wide. First Arrival Itoh Peony is a prolific bloomer with large (8 inch) flowers ranging from pale pink to magenta. Blooms in late spring and summer. Full sun or part shade. Plant 30 inches apart. Sold as a single dormant bare root.
