$2.00
sold out
Native to the Southeast but hardy enough to grow in Southern NH. It can appear as a small tree or a large shrub, growing 15- 30 feet tall in optimum conditions. The purple flowers blooming in spring are unique, but the fruits of this plant are the main attraction. The oblong edible fruits are ripe in early fall and the taste is similar to a banana. The fruit is good to eat fresh, bake or preserve. Sold as a small, dormant, single bare root seedling, about 12-18 inches tall.
