B5. Castanea mollissima, chinese chestnut

$3.00
Resistant to chestnut blight. Chinese chestnut grows to about 40 feet tall and wide, has spiny nuts that are attractive to wildlife, and the leaves turn yellow in the fall. Full sun to part shade. Tolerates a variety of soils but not too wet. Consider planting multiple Chinese chestnuts, as the cross-pollination will increase the nut crop. Sold as a bareroot seedling, 18-24" tall.
